Released around 1969–1970, this watch is celebrated by vintage collectors as one of Omega’s most uniquely styled daily divers. Blending the rugged capability of a tool watch with a sleek, slim mid-century silhouette, it wears incredibly well on a variety of wrist sizes.
A 37mm case featuring a dark blue dial with prominent hour markers, a date window at the 3 o’clock position, and a bidirectional black rotating Bakelite bezel, it’s powered by the Automatic Caliber 565, which is known for its reliability and its “pump-action” quickset date mechanism. The stainless steel screen-down caseback showcases the iconic Seamaster hippocampus logo and lettering.
Through its vintage charm, ideal dimensions, and that rare blend of elegance and adventurous spirit that defines the great Omega watches of that period, the “Big Crown” stands apart from the bulky dive watches of its era.
This piece presents in exceptional condition on a gorgeous sharkskin strap with Omega buckle.
